- What a trip! The music magic aboard the ship was just brilliant. Noel V. Ginnity said it well: “There’s more smiles per nautical mile on the Andy Cooney cruise.” A great combination of European-Italian culture, American & Irish musicians and Caribbean climate! — Nancy Comerford
- We have just returned home from the Cruise of Irish Stars and wanted to thank you for a wonderful trip. This was our second cruise with you and they get better every time. You have assembled an outstanding group of musicians and you all seemed to feed off one another. This made the performances even better. You and your band were great, Ronan was great and that was to be expected, but the contributions of Tom Comerford and Stephen’s Green were also super. Tom Comerford better join a union because you had him working everywhere. I was particularly pleased to hear him say that this was his best week of the year and he looked forward to it all year long. We could not believe how great Paddy Cole and Carmel Dempsey were. Carmel brought every set that she was involved to life and I hope that y ou bring her back so that we can see and hear more of her. Paddy Cole just proves that musicians get better with age. I also want to tell you that we brought three other couples to the cruise and they all enjoyed the cruise. This was a great vacation, thanks again. — Mike and Dotty Melville, Pawleys Island, SC
- Once again, I thoroughly enjoyed the cruise! I’m glad I got to personally meet you (Susan) this year. I think this year was even better than last year. The entertainment was exceptional and unbelievable!!! I was so glad we got to meet Paddy Noonan after last year when everyone was mistaking my dad for him….loved him!!! Also, of course ANDY…goes without even being said. He’s always so kind and takes such special interest in everyone who talks to him. He makes you feel like a long time friend even if he doesn’t know you. He’s such a talented man. My mom loves hearing him sing “Danny Boy”. Said he sings it better than anyone she has ever heard!!!! Ronan Tynan–goes without even having to say a word … But I will – he brings tears to my eyes!! And Tom Comerford – we love him too! He’s a great addition to the cruise. Each entertainer has such a different specialty and style. THAT is what makes Andy Cooney’s cruises so wonderful and different than any others I’ve been on. — Maureen Rogers
- My husband, Jeremiah, and I had the time of our lives January 26-February 2, 2008 on the cruise with Andy, Ronan Tynan, etc. to the Western Caribbean on the Costa Mediterranea. Noel V. had us rolling in the aisle with laughter. Step Dancers were outstanding; Stephen’s Green always fantastic; Screaming Orphans were wonderful; Simon Casey sang one of my favorites, “You Raise Me Up”; talented Paddy Cole; everyone was on their game…So glad we experienced this dynamic event. Before the cruise, we caught Andy at Fr. John’s K of C in Garden City, NY at Christmas. Took the roof off with his singing of, “The Holy City.” Delighted he performed it the final night of the cruise in the theater. “The Holy City,” and “When the Saints Go Marching In” had everyone on their feet, applauding, and cheering. We are still talking about it!! Thanks again for a wonderful, wonderful cruise. What talent, thank you Andy.–Jeremiah and Elizabeth Connelly
