EASTERN CARIBBEAN

Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
Ft. Lauderdale features an endless array of art galleries and boutiques for your shopping and browsing pleasure and a beach that's been the subject of many movies.

St. Thomas (US Virgin Islands)
This is one of the most beautiful regions in the world. Charlotte Amalie is the capital and major passenger port of the island of St. Thomas, which together with St. Croix and St. John form the principal islands of the United States Virgin Islands. St. Thomas lies at the crossroads between the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea.  St. Thomas is certainly the most cosmopolitan of the three islands. Charlotte Amalie, has always attracted large mercantile ships, even before the arrival of the transatlantic passenger cruisers, and tourism has been the major maritime activity for the last few years. To protect the island and preserve its beautiful coastline and beaches, its lush countryside and natural surroundings, the government has enacted environmental laws.

San Juan, Puerto Rico
Although only 100 by 35 miles, Puerto Rico metamorphoses into a great diversity of landscapes. Sunny beaches give way to upland tropical rainforests. Crammed urban highways intersect with roads that soon wind under leafy canopies. Year-old high-rises share the island with 300-year-old towns and 1,000-year-old trees.

Nassau, Bahamas
The port of Nassau is located in the northeastern part of the island of New Providence. The island is flat, covered by pine-tree woods, lakes and swamps. In the North there are wonderful beaches, tourist ports, golf courses and many other venues for leisure and free time. Nassau is the capital city and is an important centre of international finance and it also hosts conferences at world level. Prized for its sheltered harbour, the city made history and preserved it beautifully in Victorian mansions, cathedrals, 18th-century fortresses and a Queen's Staircase whose 66 steps lead to a view not to be missed.  Nassau is home to weather-beaten ancient forts; elegant, noble architecture; and fine local and international crafts and goods, from handmade lengths of batik to Rolex watches.
